The Stone House is truly a hidden gem in Bakersfield! If you’re looking for authentic Yemeni cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. From the moment we arrived, Ali made us feel incredibly welcome. His warm, friendly personality and thoughtful recommendations made our dining experience even more memorable. It’s rare to receive service that feels so genuine, and Ali went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed every part of our meal. The food was simply outstanding. We ordered the Lamb Hanith and the Fahsah, and both were absolutely incredible. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with rich, authentic flavor. The made-to-order fresh bread was amazing—hot, fluffy, and perfect for enjoying every bite of the Fahsah. To accompany our meal, we enjoyed Mama’s Tea Milk and the Red Tea. Both were wonderfully aromatic, comforting, and the perfect complement to the rich flavors of the food. And then came dessert…the Al-Maesub Al-Malaki, which was nothing short of heavenly! Amazing service very clean location authentic food everything was absolutely delicious the meat is fall off the bone just as the other reviews State you must try the chicken if you can also try the lamb it is very delicious it is not gamey tasting at all and very tender and soft. Highly recommend 5 stars and the meat is Halal which is cleaner more humane and tastes better!

This place is honestly a 100/10 experience. The food is incredible — authentic Yemeni flavors that you can’t find just anywhere. The mandi, saltah, and chicken were all perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Portions are generous, and everything tastes fresh and homemade. What really makes this place special is the atmosphere. Dining in the traditional private rooms gives it a unique and comfortable experience. The service was also top-tier — very friendly, respectful, and professional. If you’re looking for real Yemeni food done right, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back.

10/10 would recommend I was SO excited when I found out this place existed and we drove up immediately to try it. The food was amazing, the bread was to die for, their house Stone sauce was SO good we needed to get extra. The lamb was perfect and fell apart exactly how you’d want. The desert was heavenly, absolutely keep room for it. The server (I’m sorry I didn’t get your name!!) was wonderful with the recommendation. And extra points for offering traditional private rooms. As a niqabi eating out is always a fun challenge and having a space I could uncover and a server who understood how to interact with that was so refreshing. First time getting to experience it here in the US and it’s one of those quality of life things I’ve missed dearly.

Stopped here for lunch on the way to Vegas after searching for halal food... and WOW! The lamb mandi was awesome and service was top notch. We will be back to try more dishes for sure!
